Cagbalete Island, a famous beach island with turquoise blue water  and creamy (almost white) fine sand, which is a part of Mauban, Quezon. It is also famous for its sandbars with fine sands, that is in every corner of the island. Mauban is 147 km. from Manila and 40 km. from Lucena City, the capital of Quezon Province.

How to get there: 

By private vehicle: 

Take South Super Highway then Sto. Tomas -> Batangas -> San Pablo -> Tiaong -> Candelaria -> Sariaya -> Tayabas -> Mauban. This route has no rough roads and provides a smooth drive to Mauban.

By Public Transport: 

  1. Take a bus at  JAC Liner in Kamias (click for location) going to Mauban, Quezon. Earliest trip is at 5am, fare is P270, approximately 5 hours travel time.
  2. From Mauban market, just walk towards Mauban port, approximately 10 minutes walk.
  3. Take a boat going to Cagbalete Island. Tourist needs to register at the Tourism Office, and pay the Environmental Fee of P50 per person. TWO options for the boat, you can either take Public Boats (they have 3 now), price is P50 to the 2 regular sized boats, and P100 for the big boat. Trip schedule starts at 8:45am, all 3 boats have 3 trips to and forth Cagbalete and have a 30mins interval in between each  other. OR you can rent a private boat, P1,500 for 2-4 persons (roundtrip), or you can also call Kuya Toto to arrange the boat , mobile no.: (+63)908-7172962 . Travel time from Mauban Port to Cagbalete Island is approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour.
  4. From Cagbalete port, you can either rent another boat (if you took the Public boat) cost about P300-P500 depending on which resort you are staying, BUT if you rented a private boat, they will drop you directly at the beach front of the resort. ANOTHER way is by walking, nearest resort is approx 20 minutes walk, you have to rent a guide on this one, P100 fee.
